Accutron by Bulova revolutionized the entire world of watchmaking with the introduction of the tuning fork oscillator watch that was guaranteed accurate to within 2 seconds a day, or 1 minute a month.

In 1962 The Accutron 214 became the first wristwatch certified for use by railroad personnel and by 1967 only Accutron clocks were used aboard Air Force One.
