Cartier Tank
In 1917, Cartier designed the Tank wristwatch,
whose distinctive lines and proportions commemorate the allies' new weapon of
war.
Since
then, many variations have been created on that original design and today the
Tank is surely the most recognisable, desirable and enduring watch design.
It is also one of the most widely copied and a favourite of counterfeiters around the globe.
The most recent incarnation of the Cartier Tank, launched in 1996, is the Tank Francaise, the first square Tank and likely to be one of the most popular versions ever produced.
