Under the influence of the moon and sun, the sea level rises and as it comes into contact with the shoreline, the sea rushes into bays and thrusts up rivers at the speed of a galloping horse. Such are the effects of the flow tide. As the level descends again, the mouths of the rivers are emptied, the coast juts out and boats find themselves on dry land. This movement is known as the ebb tide.
The powerful rhythms of the tides constantly sculpt the landscapes, stirring up millions of gallons of water. Very few watches are able to measure such phenomena and the Admiral’s Cup Marées or “Tides” is one such rarity. The highly specific characteristic of this model whose design, external appearance and bracelet style are identical to the other new-generation Admiral’s Cup versions lies in the patented mechanism integrated within its automatic movement. This mechanism enables it at all times to display the various states of the tide and the accompanying phenomena: high tides and low tides, the force of the day’s tide in relation to moon phases, an estimation of tide heights and the force of currents.
This model comes in a single size only and its dial is navy blue in tribute to the sea, or creamy white. On the wristbands in steel and rubber or rubber and high-tech fabric, both the rubber and fabric are also blue.
