Zenith ChronoMaster Open Concept
Borrowing designs from the past in order to project them into the future, the
Chronomaster Open Concept exhibits a century and a half of watchmaking know-how
using futuristic materials : the case is in micro-peened titanium, a metal which
is three times stronger than steel with half the weight; the strap in carbon fi
bre can with- standa traction up to 300 kg; the dial is made of TR90, a
transparent material developed for space research, translucent and unbreakable,
onto which the numerals appear to be raised.
Beyond the dial the pearly plate of the 4021J movement is
visible. Sealed in order to be resistant to shock, it can be regulated from the
outside using the exposed cobalt screws. Playing with light and shades, this
unusual watch marries tradition and modernity with a new alchemy. It also
exhibits watchmaker’s craftsmanship in the traditional movement and the
insertion of the sword-shaped hands, combined with post-modern vibrations
derived from a futuristic technology. Reassuringly ZENITH.
