Start and Finish of Daylight Saving in TAS
Since
2008 TAS DST ends on the first Sunday in April at 03:00 and starts the first Sunday
in October at 03:00.
Daylight Saving Extended in Tasmania for 2006
In 2006, daylight saving was extended by one week and finish at 2.00
am standard time on Sunday 2 April.
In 2005-2006, daylight saving commenced at 2.00 am standard time on the
first Sunday in October (2 October) 2005 and concluded at 2.00 am on the first
Sunday in April (2 April) 2006.
The change was to support the 2006 Commonwealth Games, held in Melbourne from
15-26 March 2006.
Tasmania, New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and the Australian
Capital Territory have all given in-principle support to extend daylight saving
by one week in 2006. Tasmania is currently seeking to amend legislation to
support the change in 2006.
