PERTH Australia: Western Australians turned down daylight
savings time for the fourth time since 1975
in a referendum on 16 May 2009. A larger share of the voters rejected daylight savings time this year than in 1992, the last time the question was put to a vote, The Sunday Times of Perth reported. With about two-thirds of the votes counted, about 55 percent had gone into the "No" column, officials said. |
