when the first scheduled flight Cluj-Napoca – Bucharest took place. In
1933, the airport became international. The airport was destroyed at the
end of the Second World War by the Soviet troops.
The process of rebuilding the airport was
finished late, in 1970. The airport re-received international status
only in September 1996.
