St. Albans, HertfordshireTown of St. Albans, HertfordshireSt Albans is a City in southern Hertfordshire, England, around 35 km. (22 miles) north of central London. St Albans was the first major town on the old Roman road of Watling Street for travellers heading north and became the Roman city of Verulamium. There are two railway stations in St Albans. The City Station is about 750 metres east of the city centre and is served by the First Capital Connect (formerly Thameslink) railway line, with trains to Bedford, Luton, London Luton Airport, London, Sutton, Wimbledon, London Gatwick Airport and Brighton. The Abbey Station is about one kilometre south of the city centre and is served by the "Abbey Flyer", operated by Silverlink.
