Stratford-upon-Avon is a small market town in south Warwickshire. The town is
very famous and a popular tourist destination- millions of visitors come to see
the birthplace of the well-known playwright and poet William Shakespeare, born
in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564, and to get a glimpse of life in 16th century
England through the five Shakespeare properties that are preserved by
Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust.
Stratford is close to Birmingham and is easily accessible from junction 15 of
the M40 motorway. The town is also served by Stratford-upon-Avon railway
station, with good links from Birmingham and London Marylebone.
