Austin Reed
From a single shop in the City of
London in 1900, Austin Reed has transformed itself from a
traditional business into a dynamic and progressive group, boasting over 70
outlets in the UK with international licensees across the globe. After opening
its first shop on
Fenchurch Street in 1900, Austin Reed would begin to build
what was just the beginning of Austin Reed today by opening
branches in
Regent Street,
London W1, Oxford Street,
Birmingham and Manchester.
In the 1990s, Austin Reed ventured
into airport retailing, opening its first tax-free shop selling shirts and
accessories at Terminal 4, Heathrow. Today, Austin Reed has airport shops located
in London Heathrow Airport
Terminal 1 & Terminal 2,
London Gatwick Airport,
Edinburgh Airport and London
Stansted Airport which continue to project the
brand to new markets. The recent relaxation of dress codes and increased
leisure time inspired the company to introduce its REED label in 1998, offering
