www.faracharityshops.org About FARAFARA is a registered charity both in the UK and Romania and has been actively working with orphaned and abandoned children in Romania since 1991, when the deplorable conditions of Romania’s state orphanages were first revealed. The problems of Romania’s abandoned children and young adults are slowly being solved but 75,000 with disabilities still live in state residential care. FARA offer an alternative to state institutionalisation to ensure children and young people are safe, happy and loved. FARA is now recognised as leading the way in childcare and special needs education, responding to the Romanian Government’s agenda to transform childcare in line with E.U. accession. Despite this, the country remains very poor with 40% of Romanians still living in extreme poverty. Small but perfect, FARA Kingston has everything a charity shop can offer. The shop displays an eclectic mix of clothing, books and bric-a-brac at very affordable prices and further donations are very much needed in this shop. |
