Lloyds Banking Group is a leading UK based financial services
group providing a wide range of banking and financial services, primarily in the
UK, to personal and corporate customers. Lloyds TSB Group plc was renamed Lloyds
Banking Group plc on 19 January 2009, following the acquisition of HBOS plc.
This makes them the largest retail bank in the UK with a number of leading
market positions. The origins of Lloyds Bank stretch back to 1765, and by the early 1990s, Lloyds Bank had offices in 30 countries,
from Argentina to the USA. Following the credit crunch of 2008 Halifax and Bank of Scotland joined the
renamed Lloyds Banking Group.
