About Central Sussex College
Based on six campuses at Crawley, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, East
Grinstead and Horsham, Central Sussex College is the largest college in the
region. With almost 1,000 staff, the College will offer training and
education to over 3,000 full-time and around 15,000 part-time students.
Central Sussex College intends to maintain the development of adult and
community learning across central Sussex. Although national reports indicate
recreational course costs will increase due to reduced funding, the College
plans to maintain the lowest possible fee structure including 20 per cent
concessions for its learners aged 60+, and in some cases will extend the
entitlement to 50+ year olds. Further free or heavily discounted places on
examination courses will continue for 16-18 year olds and students receiving
means tested benefits.
The College has been able to maintain its concessions and fee structure for
all adult education courses by anticipating the impact of government funding
changes and planning accordingly, to lesson the impact on recreational
learners.
