International Airport Code - San Francisco Airport: SFO

San Francisco International Airport is located south of San Francisco, serving that city, Silicon Valley and the wider Bay Area. One of the USA's busiest airports, SFO handles both domestic flights and international connections to and from the Pacific Rim, Europe and Latin America.

San Francisco International Airport has four terminals, one of which is a recently built and much praised international terminal, and three of which handle domestic and Canada-bound flights. An internal transit system, AirTrain, links together the various parts of the airport.

Metro rail services run between the airport, the city and the Bay Area. Long term plans include a new runway layout to reduce flight delays in bad weather.
