In 1997, restaurateur Andy Bell started to create, manage and grow Handyman Matters, a franchise business that allows home or business owners to call a skilled, licensed and bonded handyman when they need to repair one of the seemingly endless problems that occur in virtually every residential and commercial building. Andy and his wife, Colette, began their journey in the basement of their home nearly 10 years ago and today boast not only a rapidly growing support staff, but also Handyman Matters stores in 26 states, Canada and Ireland.
The company offers home and business owners a convenient way to remedy common problems such as leaky faucets, flooring repair, to more complex issues such as remodeling a bathroom. Customers simply call a local number and explain their issue, while a proprietary database configures their location and the best handyman to send out for the job.
