About Travelodge
In 1935, businessman Scott King recognized the need for homelike accommodations
for weary travellers and established his first motor court in San Diego. In
1996, Cendant Corporation, then HFS Inc., acquired the brand.
Travelodge Hotels franchises hotels in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The full line of Travelodge brands includes four categories of properties:
Travelodge Hotels, Travelodge, Travelodge Suites, and Thriftlodge®. Each tier
offers a different level of amenities
to accommodate the varying needs of today’s traveller.
Sleepy Bear has been the Travelodge brand’s proud mascot for fifty years.
Certain Travelodge locations offer Sleepy Bear’s Den rooms, which feature Sleepy
