Payless Car Rental System, Inc.(PaylessCarRental.com), a Nevada corporation, was founded in 1971, in Spokane, Washington. Payless Car Rental quickly grew to more than one hundred rental offices nationwide before acquiring the Canadian-based Holiday Rent-A-Car System to expand further in North America. After the merger, the system operated as Holiday-Payless Rent-A-Car until 1987, when the system reverted back to Payless Car Rental and reincorporated as a Florida company in September 2001.

Our focus remains in assisting our franchisees in achieving operating efficiencies and profitability. In the summer of 2003, Payless formed a strategic alliance with Sixt Rent A Car (Sixt.com), a ninety year old German company with over 1300 corporate locations in fifty-four countries. Sixt and Payless Car Rental: a strong car rental partnership which began on 12 September 2003. Sixt AG, based in Pullach near Munich, Germany, is an international provider of high-quality mobility services. The company, which was formed in 1912, is represented in 51 countries by Sixt rental locations and franchise partners, and is market leader in Germany and Austria. Its rental network comprises around 1,300 locations. In the leasing business, Sixt is one of the largest vendor-neutral providers of full-service leasing. The Sixt Group generates revenue of EUR 2.2 billion (2002) and employs a global workforce of around 2,000. Sixt and Payless Car Rental System, Inc. customers now have access to an international network of more than 1,400 rental locations in over 60 countries comprising a total of around 110,000 vehicles. The partnership of Sixt and Payless Car Rental System, Inc. includes the exclusive exchange of reservations for their respective areas. They share the mutual acceptance of their respective methods of payment. The partnership will have common use of booking channels such as the Internet, travel agencies and reservations centers. While Sixt will cover the entire EMEA region, Payless Car Rental will be responsible for North America (USA and Canada), Central America and South America. Both companies will continue to operate in their own names in these markets.
